How It Works
Just One Tutor exists to make peer tutoring within a school simple, safe, and consistent — every match follows rules your school controls.
- Your school registers and sets its policies
A school administrator submits an application, verifies the school's email domain(s), and configures grade rules, gender policy, subjects, and tutoring formats.
- Students register with their school email
Tutors and tutees sign up with a verified school email, which matches them to their school automatically — there's no approval queue to wait in. Tutees in grades 6–8 (or as the school requires) provide parent/guardian details so consent can be requested.
- Tutors complete required training
Every tutor watches the training video covering conduct, boundaries, and academic honesty. Finishing it activates their account — until then, no tutee can book them.
- Tutees find and request a session
Just One Tutor matches tutees with eligible tutors by school, grade, subject, level, gender policy, format, and availability — and shows only real, available times.
- The tutor confirms
The tutor has a set window — 24 hours by default, configurable per school — to confirm or decline. A request they don't answer in time expires on its own, and the tutee can simply pick another. Once confirmed, the session appears on both dashboards with the agreed time and the school location it was booked for.
- After the session
The session is counted as held automatically — nobody has to confirm anything. If it didn't happen, either the tutor or the tutee can say so and describe why. That sends it to the school administrator with the explanation, and they decide how the session should be recorded.
